Prosafe's Safe Lancia accommodation vessel contracted again with Pemex offshore Mexico

By Phaedra Friend Troy

Interpetroleum Services awarded Prosafe a bareboat contract for the Safe Lancia offshore accommodation facility with the Mexican state-owned Pemex.

Although a new award, the Safe Lancia has already been working for Pemex offshore Mexico.

The Safe Lancia is a semisubmersible GVA 2000-design capable of housing 605 crewmembers. Total contract value for the award is US $57 million.

A multi-year gig, the Safe Lancia is contracted from August 19, 2010 to December 31, 2012.

Prosafe is the owner and operator of offshore accommodation and service vessels used in the oil and gas industry. Historically, these vessels are used during installation and maintenance of platforms, as well as hook-up of subsea tiebacks, the company revealed.

Additionally, the accommodation vessel offers a safe location away from the facilities in the event of an emergency.
