Jaguar Exploration, Inc., global leader in seismic data quality control (QC) processes, has been named by Spanish oil & gas major CEPSA as its provider of Geodetics/Auditing and Seismic QC services for projects in Peru.

Describing the new project, Jaguar President Julio M Jimeno said, “This contract covers seismic field supervision and quality control in CEPSA’s Ucayali Basin blocks, along with auditing for instruments and geodetics. It’s another case of an international E&P company putting Jaguar’s deep regional experience to good use – and another success for Jaguar itself.”

At the start of this seismic data acquisition program, Jaguar will provide an instrument engineer to audit the contractor’s recording instruments and a surveyor/topographer to audit surveying procedures and survey data reduction process.

“Our field personnel will not only represent the client, but supervise operations which include acquiring the seismic data,” notes Henno Siismets, Jaguar vice president of operations. “We will also base a project manager in Lima, the capital; he will coordinate all the seismic contractor’s and subcontractors’ activities and generates daily reports for the CEPSA project team.”

The activities of CEPSA – Compañía Española de Petróleos, SA – span the entire oil value chain, ranging from the exploration and production of hydrocarbons to the marketing of petroleum products. Its intensive exploration effort in Peru’s Ucayali Basin (4 blocks, all as operator) involves carrying out seismic campaigns and subsequently drilling exploratory wells.

With its particular focus on seismic data acquisition QC and auditing programs for improved data results, Jaguar Exploration operates worldwide. Jaguar delivers project management for marine, transition zone and land seismic survey positioning, project-related HSE auditing and tracking, and the development of critical software to support customer programs. Jaguar adds unique value to virtually every step of the seismic data acquisition chain, from inception to completion.
