Equal Energy CFO resigns post, takes action over compensation

CALGARY, AB – Blaine Boerchers, senior vice president, finance and CFO of Canada-based Equal Energy Ltd. (NYSE: EQU) has resigned from the company and commenced court action in relation to his "security-based compensation." 

Before Boerchers joined the company, then named Enterra Energy, in the fall of 2007, he served as vice president of finance with Nabors Drilling. Ahead of taxation changes by the Canadian government, Enterra Energy converted the Trust into a corporation.

The portfolio of oil and gas properties is geographically diversified with producing properties located in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Oklahoma. Production is comprised of approximately 52% crude oil and natural gas liquids and 48% natural gas.
