DTE Energy and Local 223, Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA), DTE Energy's largest labor union representing some 3,900, announced they have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract.

After working long hours and bargaining through the weekend, the company and union representatives reached a tentative agreement that both parties believe is fair for Local 223 members and meets the company's goals to provide competitive wages and benefits for all.

"Despite having tough issues to tackle in these negotiations, both parties worked hard to stay focused on the end goal and were able to reach a deal prior to the contract expiration date," said Jim Harrison, President, Local 223, UWUA.
