Production building through second Olowi platform

Offshore staff

CALGARY, Canada -- Canadian Natural Resources (CNR) is progressing development drilling from its second platform on the Olowi field offshore Gabon. The B platform, which produced first oil in April, currently has four wells drilled and completed. Three are in service, while the fourth is due on stream this month.

The initial performance from the first three wells has been encouraging, CNR adds. The company plans to drill two further wells from this platform followed by further drilling on Olowi’s third production installation, Platform A.

At the Espoir field off Cote d’Ivoire, installation of the facilities upgrade modules on the FPSO has been completed on schedule. CNR aims to conclude the upgrade program by mid-year, leading soon afterwards to associated production uplift.
