FMC Technologies (FMC) signed in the beginning of March a contract with Statoil for the manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment to support the Marulk field. The award is a call-off from FMC's existing frame agreement with Statoil.
The Marulk field is located in the Norwegian Sea, approximately 18 miles (30 kilometers) southwest of the Norne field at a water depth of 1,200 feet (365 meters). The initial development will consist of two wells tied back to the Norne FPSO. Eni Norge AS is operator of the Marulk field and the other partners include Statoil Petroleum AS and DONG E&P Norge. Statoil will assist Eni Norge with central tasks in connection with the subsea installations and the tie back to the Norne FPSO.
Grenland Group, as a supplier to FMC Technologies, has been contracted to deliver one off Integrated Template Structure and one off Manifold. Total weight for the delivered structures will be approximately 340 tons.
The work will mainly be performed at Grenland Group's sites in Langesund and Røra , operations that for the last 15 years have delivered more than 200 various subsea structures to customers including FMC Technologies.
Contract value for Grenland Group will be around NOK 32 Mill and this contract will have a positive effect on the workload in the Grenland based workshops. Planned construction start is June of this year with deliveries scheduled to begin in May of 2011.
