White Marlin E&P, LLC, an upstream oil and gas production company, announced today the addition of two seasoned oil and gas executives to their management team. Robert L. (Bob) Byers joins the company as Chief Operating Officer and Michael J. (Mike) Larsen as Chief Technology Officer, Subsurface. Each executive has over 30 years experience in the industry.

Bob Byers graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a B.S. in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering and has served in multiple technical, operational and leadership roles, including facilities, engineering, production operations, and business management. Among his business management roles, he was previously an Offshore Engineering Manager with Mobil Exploration and Producing, and was Director of Engineering at Reading & Bates Development Company where he helped to build a start-up oil and gas subsidiary into a $312MM venture in just four years. Mr. Byers ultimately formed his own consulting engineering company and over the past 10 years has been involved in some of the largest oil and gas developments in the world, notably Shell’s Perdido, BP’s Angola Block 18, Shell’s BC-10, Bonga SW and NW projects.

During his career with Amoco Production Company and BP America, Mike Larsen has developed considerable subsurface and well development expertise in diverse oil & gas basins, including those found in the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of Suez, Nile Delta, Trinidad, Argentina, and North America onshore. He was most recently Resource Manager with BP for the Hugoton Asset, leading a team operating over 2,500 wells. Mr. Larsen’s experience includes the discovery and exploitation of oil and gas properties worldwide using both vertical and horizontal wells, and has actively participated in leadership mentoring programs that improve the performance of subsurface teams. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, has authored several publications, and presented at conferences on the subject of reservoir characterization and management.

"We are elated to have Mike Larsen and Bob Byers join the White Marlin management team”, says Terry Clark, President & CEO of White Marlin E&P. “I have known these two professionals for years and have extreme confidence in their leadership abilities and industry knowledge. Their deep experience and proven track records are excellent additions to our company, energizing our ability to acquire and develop properties on behalf of our investors."
