NCC Construction Sweden has been commissioned by E.ON to expand the Bålforsen hydropower plant at Umeälven, outside Lycksele. The assignment, which is valued at nearly US$30 million, is conditional upon a water-rights court ruling from the Environmental Court.

Adjacent to the existing hydropower plant in Bålforsen, NCC will construct a new power station with a third turbine. Bålforsen is located approximately ten kilometers west of Lycksele, and the existing hydropower plant has two turbines.

The project, which is conditional upon a definitive decision by E.ON and water-rights approval from the Environmental Court, is scheduled to commence between September 2010 and January 2011, depending on when such a ruling is received.

Accordingly, the order will be registered in the third quarter of 2010 at the earliest.
