Atwood Oceanics snags contract extension for Vicksburg jackup in Thailand

Atwood Oceanics, a Houston-based international drilling contractor (ATW), announced that the Vicksburg jackup drilling rig has been awarded a three-month contract extension by Nucoastal (Thailand) Limited. 

For a dayrate of $90,000, the rig's contract will extend to the end of September 2010. 

The Vicksburg is an independent leg cantilever jackup that can drill in waters measuring up to 300 feet deep to drilling depths up to 25, 000 feet deep.
