Wind, solar power in Wis. gets US$13M boost from across the Pond

19 February 2010 - Ingeteam said it plans to invest more than US$13 million (10 million euros) in the implementation of a combined production center in the United States. Ingeteam, Inc., specializes in the production of wind power generators and converters, as well as solar photovoltaic converters (inverters) targeting the North American market. The facilities will be located in Milwaukee.

The company’s activity will focus primarily on the energy sector, specializing in the manufacture of wind power generators and converters, as well as solar photovoltaic converters, to meet the needs of the North American market. Currently, Ingeteam already has a business office in Santa Clara, California, specializing in the sale of solar photovoltaic inverters. Likewise, another of the new affiliate’s objectives is the manufacture of motors, generators and converters for the other markets in which the company is active, including combined heat and power.

The land occupies a total area of 33,500 m2, approximately 10,000 of which will be allocated for the production plants and offices. It is planned to begin operations in early 2011, and once the project reaches maturity, it is estimated that the plant will employ 275 people by 2015.
