Spanish triumvrate wins $981 MM plant overhaul contract

12-February 2010 - ACS Servicios SA, Grupo COBRA,and Inelectra will overhaul  the Manzanillo power station, according to Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission. The contract for the overhaul is worth $981.3 million.

The group said it intends to use GE turbines in an attempt to modernize what will become a natural gas power plant. The plant will receive fuel from Peru starting in 2011 through a 15-year contract, initiated by Mexico's electricity monopoly, with Repsol-YPF.
