Pemex contracts Fluor, ICA for clean gasoline units at two Mexican refineries

Mexican national oil company Pemex has contracted US engineering firm Fluor Corp. and Mexican construction company ICA to build clean gasoline units at two of its oil refineries.

According to a release from Pemex, the two companies out-bid others to provide these clean gasoline units to Pemex’s Salina Cruz, Oaxaca and Minatitlan, Veracruz oil refineries. This will help to lower the sulfur content in the gasoline produced from these plants, an initiative the company is presently pushing.

The tender for these units was launched in July 2009, and there are other tenders currently out for similar projects throughout the country.
