Nexen restores Buzzard field production

Offshore staff

CALGARY, Canada -- Nexen has restored production from the Buzzard field to full rates of between 200,000 and 220,000 boe/d.

Since Feb 16, the field has flowed at a reduced rate of 50,000 boe/d, after routine monitoring identified a required repair to the separator unit on the Buzzard platform.

In the second quarter, Nexen plans further activities on the separator unit that will coincide with a planned one to two week shutdown to install topsides for the fourth platform.
