Mermaid Offshore wins Chevron subsea contract in the Gulf of Thailand

Mermaid Offshore Services has secured a three-year subsea contract from Chevron (CVX) for work performed in the Gulf of Thailand. For a consideration of US $15 million, Mermaid will provide subsea support for Chevron on its offshore facilities and fields in the Gulf of Thailand.

The contract requires Mermaid to provide call-out turnkey diving and remotely operate vehicle (ROV) services, as well as call out turnkey saturation diving vessel services to support Chevron’s offshore facilities and offshore fields in the Gulf of Thailand.

The agreement allows Mermaid to offer any of its available vessels and related subsea services (specialized ROVs, equipment and personnel) to Chevron, depending on its call‐out requirements. Current planned work scope for the first year is expected to be performed utilizing the M.V. Mermaid Performer and M.V. Mermaid Supporter vessels.

Mermaid has been providing Chevron with turnkey call out subsea services since 2006.
