M&P plugs and abandons M'Bafou offshore Congo

Maurel & Prom is announcing the failure of the M’Bafou well drilled in the Marine III exploration permit in the Congo.

The M’Bafou well reached a level of 2,701 meters and met its oil targets. Nevertheless, the characteristics of the reservoir are not good enough to allow production. Therefore, the well will be plugged and abandoned.

Under the same permit, drilling on well NGO-1, drilled from the coast, will start up in the coming days.

The Marine III exploration permit is located offshore the Congo in the Atlantic Ocean. Maurel & Prom holds 75 percent interest in the block.
