Dril-Quip to supply dry tree completion systems for ATP Titan at Mirage

ATP Oil & Gas has awarded a subsea contract to Dril-Quip to provide equipment to its Mirage field development located on Mississippi Canyon Block 941 in the Gulf of Mexico.

Under the contract, Dril-Quip will supply dry tree completion systems, including specialty connectors, subsea wellhead systems, production riser and 10,000 psi surface completion trees. Additionally, Dril-Quip will supply a drilling riser for the development.

ATP Titan

The Mirage field development will employ the ATP Titan, a MinDOC 3 self-contained floating drilling and production vessel that incorporates a triple-column spar design.

The drilling and production facility will house six well slots, incorporating ram-style conductor tensioners. The MinDoc 3 can perform both drilling and production operations, and is designed to be deployed at multiple fields during its 40-year production life.

Coming in at a total cost of $600 million, the ATP Titan measures 726 feet tall and features enough deck space to host a third party development. The drilling and production facility will boast an initial production capacity of 25,000 barrels of oil per day and 50 million cubic feet of natural gas a day.

The ATP Titan hull was officially named at a formal ceremony at the Gulf Marine Fabricators yard near Aransas Pass, Texas in August 2009. The hull is expected to be moved to its field location in the first quarter of 2010.

Mirage Development

The ATP Titan deepwater floating drilling and production facility will be initially deployed for development of both the Mirage and Morgus fields (Mississippi Canyon 942) -- and later deployed on ATP’s Atwater Valley Block 63 development.
