Alstom applauds Obama administration for establishing CCS task force

5 February 2010 - Officials of Alstom commended the Obama Administration for establishing a task force to promote the development of CCS in the U.S. President Obama announced the establishment of the task force on February 3rd as part of the Administration’s focus on creating jobs and environmental benefits by supporting the development of clean technologies.

Pierre Gauthier, Alstom’s US Country President, said, “CCS is an area where the government and the private sector need to work in cooperation.. we agree with President Obama that climate legislation is needed to create certainty around the price of carbon. Such certainty is absolutely necessary to fuel the development of CCS and other clean technologies that can both create jobs and improve the environment.”
