BPL Global to develop China smart grid market

BPL Global, a smart grid technology company dedicated to leading the transformation of energy efficiency and reliability, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with JFP Holdings, Ltd. to develop the China market for BPLG's industry leading smart grid and building energy management solutions. JFP Holdings assists global companies to develop and implement winning strategies in China, providing infrastructure support, leveraging senior business and government relationships, and establishing local partnerships. BPLG and JFP Holdings will work together to enable a greener environment by applying smart grid and building energy management solutions to smart cities across China based on BPLG's Power SG technology to improve China's electric grid efficiency and reliability.

Since 2001 BPLG technology has been supporting China's largest electric utilities including State Grid Corporation (SGCC) and China Southern Power Grid. During that time, the company has achieved the leading market share in China for premium power transformer monitoring solutions. BPLG is also a member of JUCCCE (Joint US-China Cooperative for Clean Energy) and supports JUCCCE's efforts to improve the environment through smart grid, green buildings and other clean energy technologies. The partnership with JFP Holdings enables BPLG to triple its staff in China to 17 professionals supporting BPLG's full portfolio of smart grid and building energy management solutions that address China's energy delivery system from the substation through customer premises.

"In serving the China market for almost 10 years, BPLG has demonstrated long term commitment in becoming the leading vendor in our category to electric utilities in China," said Keith Schaefer, CEO of BPL Global. "The China market expertise at JFP Holdings will accelerate our growth in China, one of the largest and most important smart grid markets worldwide."

China's total power demand is expected to more than double by 2020 and, according to analysts, China will spend as much as $99 billion USD on smart grid investments over the next decade. JFP Holdings is led by Jack Perkowski, who built one of the leading automotive components supplier groups in China and is widely recognized as an expert on doing business in the country. Based on decades of experience in China, Jack authored Managing the Dragon: How I'm Building a Billion-Dollar Business in China, in March 2008. JFP Holdings will assist BPLG in growing its leadership role as a supplier of smart grid technology and building energy management solutions.

"BPLG had foresight into the massive potential of the China market long before other smart grid technology companies," said Jack Perkowski, Chairman of JFP Holdings. "We are here to help visionary global companies like BPLG maximize their potential in China and bring the benefits of energy efficiency and reliability to the country."
