MAN Diesel appoints Chief Digitization Officer

Germany's MAN Diesel & Turbo has recruited a digital expert to take up the new post of Chief Digitization Officer.

Audi Lucas has been tasked with driving the further development and integration of digital offerings within MAN Diesel’s turbine and genset portfolio.

He joins from global consultancy firm Wipro Technologies where he was director of connected products and platform development leader.

MAN Diesel chairman Uwe Lauber said: “As a creative mission, digitization goes way beyond the development of technologies. It is an approach and way of thinking that involves interdisciplinary networking, data analysis and interaction. More than ever before, we want to embed this mentality at all levels within MAN Diesel & Turbo – from corporate strategy through to customer service and product development.”

Lucas said that “digitalization is not as much about technology as it is about addressing friction points in the market – the problems customers face in their daily business. Then finding new ways and business opportunities to address those points in a blindingly fast and agile way.”
