Infinis landfill gas division sold for £185m

3i Infrastructure will pay £185m to acquire the landfill gas division of Infinis, one of Britain's leading renewable energy companies, and its subsidiaries.

Infinis is the largest landfill gas (LFG) electricity generator in the UK, with 121 gas sites spread across the country.
Infinis
Its parent company the Infinis Group is one of the largest generators of renewable electricity, generated through LFG and onshore wind, and is owned solely by funds managed by Terra Firma Capital, a leading European private equity firm.

By extracting LFG from landfill sites, Infinis helps waste management companies meet their environmental compliance obligations.

Together the 121 sites have a combined generation capacity of around 300 MW.
