DEWA awards $6m gas turbine contract

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has awarded a $6m gas turbine contract for the next stage of the Aweer power sta Aweer Power Station ‘H’ tion.

The deal has been won by an undisclosed company which will test, supply, and install three gas turbines with a total capacity of 700 MW. All of the turbines are scheduled to be operational in 2020.

Aweer Power Station ‘H’ in Dubai has a current total capacity of 1974 MW and this will rise to 2674 MW once the three turbines are installed.
