Mexico's energy reforms called "courageous and profound"

Mexico has launched "courageous and profound " structural reforms to its energy market, the Canadian Ambassador to Mexico, Pierre Alarie, and the president and CEO of ATCO, Nancy Southern, have said.

The diplomat said the structural reforms in Mexico are of great importance to optimize the business environment.

He also stressed the increased trade between Mexico and Canada, following the signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

In turn, Southern (pictured) said the structural changes in Mexico show "great courage", particularly in regards to opening up the energy sector.
