Czechs compete E.ON Italy asset purchase

EPH has completed the purchase of E.ON's coal- and gas-fired power plants in Italy after agreeing to the d Handshake deal eal in January.

The Czech utility announced the completed acquisition on Wednesday. The assets include six coal- and gas-fired power plants with a combined capacity of 4,500 MW.

Both parties have kept the purchase price confidential.

Germany's largest utility agreed to sell the power plants to Czech energy company EPH in January, ridding itself of unwanted assets from an acquisition spree in 2007.
