EEB acquires 51% of four Brazilian transmission concessions

Colombian firm Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EEB) has acquired 51 per cent of four electricity transmission concessions in Brazil. The concessions will expire between 2023 and 2024, according to Brazilian news provider Valor Futuro.

The projects are Transnergia Renovável S. A., Transenergia Sao Paulo S. A., Goiás Transmissao S. A. and MGE Transmissao S. A.

Through those acquisitions EEB has become a partner of Brazil's Furnas, which holds the remaining 49 per cent of shares.

Furnas owns 17 hydropower and two thermoelectric power plants as well as 65 substations, and will be a strategic partner for EEB.
