CIRCOR buys German valve firm Schroedahl

US-headquartered CIRCOR International has bought fellow valves manufacturer Schroedahl.

Schroedahl is based in Germany and its business will operate as a new unit within CIRCOR Energy Group. Schroedahl bought by CIRCOR

The company has around 130 staff based mainly near Cologne. Schroedahl produces custom-engineered high-pressure auto-recirculation (ARC) and control valves for pump protection applications.

ARC valves ensure the consistent minimum flow rate of pumps in order to guard against overheating, collapse or destruction.

Schroedahl has the leading market position in the ARC valve market and has long-term relationships with pump OEMs.

CIRCOR president Scott Buckhout said the acquisition “represents an important strategic step toward increased growth in the markets and regions we serve”.

“Schroedahl is a strong fit strategically with CIRCOR’s existing product portfolio, and will significantly increase our ability to provide our energy customers with the quality products and services they need.”
