Alstom in Colombian substation supply contract win

French firm Alstom has signed a contract with Colombia's Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EBB) for supply of a 500 kV substation which will be located 30 km from Bogota.

In a statement, Alstom said work on the substation will be completed by mid-2017 and the project will play a key role in Colombia's national energy programme.

Alstom will be in charge of the substation equipment, as well as the design and construction. The equipment was tested in high-altitude areas and is also ready to operate in seismic risk zones, the company said.
