EDF Energy has awarded Amec Foster Wheeler with a contract worth up to £15m a year to provide project management services to all of EDF Energy's UK nuclear power stations.

The nine year agreement is one of the largest project management contracts within the UK nuclear power industry.

The contract also covers the company’s technical offices in Gloucester and East Kilbride.

It is welcome news for the company who recently announced a $100m year-on-year profit drop they had blamed on falling oil prices.

Their services will be deployed at the nuclear stations at Dungeness in Kent, Sizewell in Suffolk, Hunterston in North Ayrshire, Torness in East Lothian, Heysham 1 and 2 in Lancashire, Hartlepool on Teesside and Hinkley Point in Somerset.
