Colombia's Isagen gives priority to Cañafisto hydropower plant

Colombian electric group Isagen, which is over 50 per cent state-owned, is to give priority to the construction of the Cañafisto hydropower plant.

El Colombiano newspaper said the plant will be located in the Antioquia region and will add 968 MW to the national grid.

Its construction is expected to last five or six years. The project has been filed with the National Authority for Environment Licenses (Anla).

2015 is expected to be the year of Isagen's expansion abroad thank to its projects in Central America, Chile and Peru.
