94 MW awarded for photovoltaic projects in El Salvador

14 July 2014 -- A public energy tender recently held in El Salvador has awarded 94 MW of the 100 MW initially proposed. The projects to be developed will be based on solar photovoltaic energy.

Energias Renovables magazine said the companies that took part in the bid offered prices between $101.9/MWh and $123.4/MWh.

The winning companies chosen by state-owned Distribuidora de Electricidad del Sur are UDP Neoen-Almaval, which will construct solar plants with a capacity of 60 MW; Solar Reserve Development Co II, with 20 MW; and UDP La Trinidad Project, with two power stations of 8 MW and 6 MW respectively.
