EDF Renewables buys UK wind farm from Duke and Statkraft

EDF Energy Renewables has acquired a UK wind farm project from Duke Energy and Statkraft UK.

Barmoor wind farm will be located in Northumberland and will have a capacity of 12 MW. EDF Energy Renewables

The project already has planning permission and EDF will now begin construction as soon as possible.

EDF Energy Renewables chief executive Christian Egal said the purchase fitted in with the company’s ambitions “to continue to grow our portfolio of onshore wind farms, through our own development activities and through acquisitions”.

Shimon Shoshani, head of onshore development at Statkraft UK said was committed to onshore wind in Britain and was “streamlining our portfolio towards larger projects”.

He added: “We are actively seeking further investment opportunities in the UK renewables sector, an attractive market for investments.”
