Alstom wins another coal-fired power equipment deal in India

Bharat Heavy Industrials (BHEL) has awarded Alstom a $55m contract to supplyto supply 3x660 MW supercritical boilers and components for the North Karanpura coal power plant in Jharkhand, India.

It is the 10th such contract the French power equipment supplier has won from BHEL for provision of supercritical boilers in India since 2008.

Alstom (Euronext: ALO) will design the 660 MW supercritical boilers and supply identified pressure parts along with windboxes. The company will also assist BHEL during erection as well as commissioning of the units, which is expected in 2017.
