Vestas offloads calibration business

Vestas is selling its in-house calibration operation to Sweden-based Exova Metech.

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer is to make Exova its preferred supplier of calibration services as part of the deal.

Vestas (OMX: VWS) said the move, which affects operations at Lem in Denmark and Denver in the US, will allow it to “better focus on core activities”.

  Exova has also agreed to acquire a calibration operation in China later this year.

  Exova Metech managing director Hans Åberg said: “Our deal with Vestas confirms our position as one of the leading providers of technically demanding services to the wind turbine industry.”

  Vestas head of calibration Nicola Gianluca Raimondi added: “We have worked with Exova Metech for many years and this deal secures the best calibration partner for our business.”
