Dong awards A2SEA with Siemens wind installation contract

A2SEA has been awarded a contract by Dong Energy to install 97 Siemens 6 MW wind turbines at the Gode Wind 1 and 2 projects off the North Sea island of Juist, off the coast of Germany.

The Danish offshore wind service company will deploy its Sea Installer installation vessel to carry out the work, which is set to begin in the first half of 2015.

Dong is developing the wind farms, which will have a total capacity of 582 MW, when completed, cost in the region of €2.2bn, and generate enough electricity to power around 600,000 German households.
