Vestas in Turkish wind farm deal

Vestas has signed up to the development of a 52 MW wind power plant in southern Turkey.

Danish wind turbine company Vestas has signed an agreement with a manufacturer and exporter of spiral-welded steel pipes in Turkey for the construction of the 52 MW Kavakli RES wind power plant.

Under the agreement, Vestas will deliver, install and commission 16 V112-3.3 MW wind turbines for Erciyas Çelik Boru A.Ş.'s wind power plant and will also provide a five-year service agreement, reports Ecoseed.com.

The power generated from the wind farm will be used to cover the residential electricity consumption of more than 390,000 people in Turkey.
