Dong seeks to sell UK power plant

Dong Energy is actively looking for a buyer for the new Severn Power gas power plant in South Wales.

The sale could be worth an estimated $780m for the Danish company.

City sources said Dong Energy has hired advisers from Blackstone, the US financial services giant, to find a buyer for Severn Power.

There is speculation that corporate financiers and specialist financial investors, such as Riverstone Holdings and Denham Capital Management may be interested in acquiring the facility.
