Consortium in French wind farm bid

A French- Portuguese consortium has signed an agreement to make a joint bid for a forthcoming tender to develop the 500 MW Le Treport wind farm off the French Atlantic coast.

The joint bid comes from GDF-Suez and Portugal-based ADP Renewables, part of the Energias de Portugal group, along with Areva (Euronext: CEI).

The consortium has signed on an industrial partnership with AREVA as regards the design and the construction of off-shore wind turbines.

The wind farms are to be sited near the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier.

The tenders will be submitted to the French Regulatory Commission of Energy by November 29th.
