Scottish government approves $710m plant

SSE has won approval from the Scottish government to build a $710 biomass power plant at the port of Grangemouth, Scotand in association with Fort Porths.

The plant to generate electricity and heat from wood and will have a capacity of 120 MW of power and 200 MW of heat from imported wood.

Construction of the plant will take three years and create about 300 jobs. Electricity will be fed into the grid and heat supplied to industry.
