Licensing agreement for Mitsubishi in India

A subsidiary of Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has concluded a licensing agreement for its advanced electrostatic precipitator technology with Tecpro Systems Limited, which is a leading EPC company in the balance of plant arena in India.

Under the agreement, MHI Mechantronics Systems will provide Tecpro with technology related to EP engineering, procurement and construction.

Based on the current 12th Five-Year Plan, India will be undertaking a number of power plant construction projects, with coal-fired assets dominating.

Furthermore, environmental protection regulations in India are expected to be strengthened.

Thus, a growing demand for high-performance EPs is expected.

It is anticipated that this licensing agreement will provide MHI-MS with a solid EP business foothold in India; a goal that the company has sought for some time.
