Mitsubishi ships parts to Chinese AP1000 nuclear plants

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has shipped 16 turbine rotors, consisting of 12 low-pressure and four high-pressure units, to nuclear power plants in China – the first in the world to adopt the AP1000 reactor design.

The rotors are for at the Sanmen and Haiyang nuclear power plants.

Sanmen is in Zhejiang Province and Haiyang in Shandong Province.

The plants are currently being built by Sanmen Nuclear Power and Shandong Nuclear Power respectively and each of the plants’ four units will have a capacity of 1250 MW.
