Vestas wins wind turbine order in Chile

Vestas (OMX: VWS) is to supply 57 wind turbines to the Los Curoros wind power plant in Chile.

The Danish wind equipment maker will provide Colombian multi-utility firm Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) with the turbines, which are the 22 V100-1.8 MW and 35 V100-2.0 MW models.

EPM has also procured installation and commissioning of the turbines, along with its VestasOnline Business SCADA system and a 10-year Active Management Output (AOM) 4000 service agreement.

Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2013, with the commissioning of the wind power plant expected to be in the third quarter of 2014.

The Los Cururos wind power plant is estimated to have an annual production capacity of 290,000MWh, according to Energy Business Review.
