45 per cent of Europe’s power plants to run on renewables

According to the latest Power Statistics report, just released, 45 per cent of Europe’s power plants will be running on renewable energy by 2020.

Renewable power   The report highlights that 31 per cent of the continent’s electricity will come from renewable sources.

  The data comes from European trade group Eurelectric in its latest Power Statistics report, which forecasts what the energy make-up of the region will be in eight years time.

   The report also predicts that once nuclear power is added to the mix, 56 per cent of all power generated will come from low carbon electricity.
