Brazil adds 386 MW to wind power capacity

GE is to supply wind turbines to generate 386 MW of energy for the Brazilian state of Bahia.

The contract is for Renova Energia’s upcoming projects and equipment provided will include 230 turbines, of which all but five will be 1.68XLE models. The 1.68MW machines will use 80-metre towers and 82.5-metre rotors.

The remaining five turbines will be 1.6XLE turbines on 80-metre towers with 100-metre rotors, according to Recharge News.
