$15m wind tower production facility set for Brazil

Alstom (Euronext: ALO)is planning to invest $14.8m in a wind tower manufacturing facility in the Rio Grande do Sul region of Brazil.

A statement from the company, who will be exhibiting at POWER-GEN Asia in Banghok this week, said that they expect the facility will be capable of producing 120 towers a year and should begin production in Spring of 2013.

It will furnish towers for local construction company Odebrecht SA’s Corredor do Senandes wind project in the same state as well as other Latin American wind farms, according to the statement.
