Novokuznetskaya’s second turbogenerator tested, ready for delivery Q3

Russia’s Power Machines OJSC has tested the second turbogenerator for the Novokuznetskaya gas fired power plant that is currently being built by Kuzbassenergo JSC, a member of the Siberian Generating Company Group.

The project involves the manufacture and supply two gas turbine units, with a total capacity of 298 MW (i.e. 2 x 149 MW).

The first turbogenerator was manufactured in April this year.

Both power generating units are due to be delivered to Kuzbassenergo in Q3 2012.

In December 2010, Power Machines signed a contract with Sibirenergoengineering JSC, which is the general contractor of the Novokuznetskaya project, for the supply of two gas turbines complete with generators.

In addition, Power Machines will provide supervision services during the installation and commissioning of the equipment.

The construction of the Novokuznetskaya power plant, located on the same site as the Kuznetskaya CHP plant, began back in November 2011, comes under the contract to provide much-needed extra generation capacity in the region.

Novokuznetskaya is due to enter commercial operation in December 2013.
