Consortium plans $377m solar project in South Africa

An Acwa Power led consortium has been selected by the South Africa Department of Energy (DoE) for the development of a 50MW Bokpoort CSP plant for a cost of €300m.

The Bokpoort CSP plant located near the city of Upington, Northern Cape Province, in the vicinity of Kalahari Desert will benefit from the solar and environmental conditions of the area.

The consortium comprising of ACCIONA, Crowie, Sener and TSK will act as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor and will build the facility and bring it online, reports Energy Business Review.
