Brazilian nuclear plant postponed

Electronuclear, a subsidiary of Eletrobras (NYSEEBR), has seen its Angra lll nuclear power plant completion delayed until at least July 2016.

BNamericas reports that the plant was originally scheduled for completion in December 2015, but a stall in the bid round process has scuppered that plan.

The delay is down to a court appeal by the Construcap e Orteng consortium, which was excluded from the tender process for the third phase of construction. The third phase includes two contracts for $1bn for the installation of electromechanical equipment.
