Belgium TSO plans EUR3bn, ten-year investment

Elia System Operator NV, the transmission system operator (TSO) in Belgium and eastern Germany, plans to invest EUR3bn ($3.7bn) over the next ten years to enhance its grid, as well as in the development of offshore wind.

In particular, the TSO is seeking to strengthen its grid connections with France, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK.

This is according to Trends, a Belgiun business magazine, which recently interviewed Jacques Vandermeiren and Daniel Dobbeni, Elia’s respective incoming and outgoing chief executive officers.
