Alstom in $100m Indian supercritical boiler deal

Alstom has won a contract worth almost $100m to supply components and services for two supercritical boilers in India.

The deal will see Alstom work with India’s Bharat Heavy Electricals on the boilers at the site in Maharashtra.

Alstom will cooperate with Bharat Heavy in designing the boilers and supply pressure parts of the 660 MW supercritical boilers along with pulverisers and airpreheater components.

Key components will be manufactured from Alstom’s facilities in Wellsville and Concordia in the US and in Durgapur and Shahabad in India. The units are expected to be commissioned in 2016.
