TenneT and Mitsubishi sign up to wind power relationship

European power grid operator TenneT and Japan's Mitsubishi Corp have signed a letter of intent to partner up in two more offshore grid connections.

The grid connections, named HelWin2 and DolWin2, are both located in the German North Sea and of crucial importance for the integration of offshore wind farms to the German onshore grid, a statement said.

Helwin2 and Dolwin2 connect a number of offshore wind farms in the German North Sea to the onshore electricity grid and have a combined capacity of 1590 MW.

The projects have an investment volume of approximately $2.2bn and an expected third-party equity stake of around Eur340m.
