RenewableUK and Korean Wind Energy Association join forces

RenewableUK, the trade and professional body representing the wind, wave and tidal energy industries, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Korean Wind Energy Association.

The two associations committed to an agreement to work together to increase trade by “pursuing mutually beneficial business opportunities”.

The UK and South Korea are already engaging commercially in the offshore wind sector with a significant investment announced by Samsung earlier this year.

On 31st January, Samsung announced a £100m project in Scotland to develop its new 7 MW offshore turbine at Fife Energy Park, which will employ up to 500 people - the company’s first venture of this type in Europe.
